Dan, you are the owner and founder of Go Bold Digital and you are also a brand strategist and web designer. Dan is great to have you.

Daniel (00:01:10) - Thank you so much for having me on. It's been it's an honor. It's it's really cool to be here with you.

Josh (00:01:16) - Yeah. Full disclosure, our listener may sense some familiarity between Dan and I. We're friends. Yeah, that's right. We actually become close, I would say good friends over the past 30 days. Yeah, it's been rad. Yeah. Yeah. Dan, give us a quick work or kind of a quick overview of the work you do. Again, your website is go bold digital.com to our friend that's listening. Pull it up so you can kind of follow along. You kind of visually see what we're talking about. Dan A lot of what you do is very kind of visual in nature, so it might be really helpful for a friend here that's listening. But yeah, give us an overview of your impact today.

Daniel (00:01:53) - Yeah. So what Global digital is today is really more of a marketing solution. A website with a marketing solution infuse so that, you know, most websites kind of are just a calling card. But what global digital is in its current state is really a way to not only present what you are as a coach, as an expert, as a consultant, but it also allows you to utilize some of the latest marketing strategies such as lead magnets, email sequences, what have you, to actually help your website be effective in capturing leads and interested clients that go to your website? Now, moving down the line, we're really going to be emphasizing brand strategy.

Daniel (00:02:41) - We're going to be emphasizing infusing that brand strategy into your website so that your website is going to be a really effective tool, an effective marketing tool to really drive sales for your your consulting business. If you're an expert, if you're a keynote speaker, if you're a coach and you're doing high ticket sales and you need to really emphasize your brand and really get that confidence behind your product and have your audience truly believe in what you do, to the extent that you do, that is what these products are going to deliver.

Josh (00:03:18) - Wow. And Dan, you know, I love that you've got this area of expertise and there may be, you know, a lot of maybe founders. We get a lot of SMB founders, a lot of people that might be a consultant, for example, or a high level coach or maybe B2B service provider agency. Um, and so they don't necessarily do what you do. And so one question I really love to ask is, you know, for that type of audience, you do what you do every single day.

Josh (00:03:47) - You get to spot the trends. You get to see what's working, what's not working. What would be some of maybe those most important things there? Like, listen, if you don't remember anything else about what I talk about today, please know this.

Daniel (00:04:01) - Yeah, I would say it really boils down if you want to increase sales and you want your product to shine or your service to shine, you need to have believability within your product. Once you believe that and through creating a strong brand that resonates, not only will you believe in your product, which helps with your sales and marketing, but it helps your audience believe in your product. So when you're talking about it and you you know, when you believe in something and you want it and you love it and you really passionate about it, it sells by itself. It really does. But it is important to take those steps to do the deep work, to do the deep dive into what it is that you're actually offering. And who are those people that you're actually offering it to? If you really are convinced with that, your audience is going to be convinced? When I've talked to you, Josh, I know you're convinced in what you do because you love it.

Daniel (00:05:03) - You know you're passionate about it. That resonates that that goes to every call, every marketing effort that you use, the verbiage, the messaging, everything is is built off of that believability. And when you really have that going for you, everything else is easier. If you're marketing efforts not working, it might not be your marketing effort. It may be the believability in your product, it may be the messaging behind your product.

Josh (00:05:32) - Yeah, Well, and I think that that's part and parcel to the name of your brand. Go Bold Digital. Can you share a little bit more about how we can convey boldness in particularly, I'd say both our visual and our written communication? What like how might we or asked another way, what might be the lens that we can look through our existing copy and go, You know what, I think we're kind of. Be in a little milk toast here.

Daniel (00:05:58) - Yeah. I think that staying true to yourself and your values is probably one of the most important things. You know, I'm an empathetic person.

Daniel (00:06:07) - I am somebody who cares about the results of everybody that I work with. And for a long time, I think that it's been ingrained that, you know, empathy loses or, you know, your businesses that choose to really care, you know, don't get the worm, you know. And so I think that for me, it's like I've through staying, you know, resilient in my in my belief in what I do and staying true to my values and, you know, really working and figuring out my mission and rewriting. It's okay to change your mind, right? It's okay to change based off the results that you've been given. But because I've stayed true to that, like my connection with the people that I work with is bar none, the best thing that has ever happened to me. Like, I create people that I work with. I care about the results. I want to see them When I have those connections with the people that I work with, I, you know, and I think that that's why personal branding is becoming such a popular thing nowadays is because even for B2B, you know, businesses that have a name like go digital and maybe not like Dan gores.com, you know, people want to connect with people.

Daniel (00:07:23) - And so your brands, they're creating, you know, all of their members have LinkedIn profiles now so that the brand is not just this building, this product, this, you know, brick and mortar. It is a relationship that people are creating through their personalities, through their staff that are getting out there. And that's what people are actually becoming attracted to. They're attracted to the personalities, the relationships. So I think that we're going to see a really important trend moving forward where businesses really become all about the people that work for them and all about the message that's passed along through the CEO, through the marketing department, through the employees, all the way down to the customer service reps, people working. Everyone is going to kind of embody that message and pass it out through their social media channels. And that is what is going to sell more products. That connection is, is what I'm going for moving forward.

Josh (00:08:28) - Yeah, I want to share this quote. I know you're going to know it. And after I kind of share this whole quote, I would love your take on this.

Josh (00:08:37) - And it's often attributed to Johann Johann Von Gerta. And also, I think who's the other person here? Yeah, there's a lot. It's interesting. I was Googling this. It's like, okay, well, there's a lot of controversy about who said this. William Hutchinson Murray. There's some other people. Anyway, so here's the quote. And again, as soon as I start, Yeah. Oh yeah, I know it. Until one is committed, there's hesitancy. The chance to draw back. Always ineffectiveness concerning all acts of initiative and creation. There is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans that the moment one definitely commits oneself. Then Providence moves to all sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision rising in one's favor, all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material systems which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I've learned a deep respect for this couplet. Whatever you can do or dream, you can begin it.

Josh (00:09:47) - And here's the final thing right here. Boldness has genius power and magic in it. Yeah.

Daniel (00:09:55) - Yeah, that's amazing. I love the idea of going bold because for me, what really resonated with me is when people say, Well, you have two choices. One, you can sit there and do nothing and regret it. Or two, you can be uncomfortable in taking on new challenges and feel the glory of accomplishment later, you know? And so think it's uncomfortable either way. Right. But we're going to you have a choice of really take action and do stuff. And another thing, it's just like really interesting. Is, is just the pace you do it at. You know, I think that it's really easy for a lot of people to say, take action, take action, and you're doing things, you're going. And it's not organized in any way because it's no longer slow in the article. It's just the race to complete actions and you suck out all of the meaning of everything that you're doing.

Daniel (00:10:48) - And I see that with brands all the time, right? I see people that are just like, Just give me a logo. Just, just let's paste that logo here, Put this message out there and start marketing it right? And it's just all rushed and you sense it. Whenever you go to a website and you're reading through it and you're just like, This feels rushed. I don't understand. The communication hasn't been well thought out, right? And so let's get back into being a little more slow and methodical in this fast paced world. Find enjoyment in what we're doing right. Like we're doing this for purpose, for meaning for, you know. And the second you start blazing through it, you lose all of that. So like, you know, when I say go bold, that means take action, but also do it diligently. Like, yeah, what's make something beautiful. And that doesn't come out of just rash decisions. There has to be some thought process without going into the analysis paralysis.

Daniel (00:11:46) - Right. But yeah.

Josh (00:11:47) - I'm going to get your take on another thing, you know, because this is what you're talking about. I've never done this before. I'm going to share a second quote. Yes. In in a.

Daniel (00:11:55) - First ever second.

Josh (00:11:56) - Quote, do this. But you just happen to be hitting on things that has just been so top of mind for me lately. And I actually wrote a long form article based on a quick scene from the TV show Boardwalk Empire that my wife and I are watching. It's it's an okay show. But this scene, there was something about it that just it gave me chills. I actually got emotional hearing about it. And so basically, this is during the 1920s, during the Prohibition era. And Enoch, Nucky Thompson is that's, you know, what's his name, the main character I'm spacing on the actor's name. If you see him like, Oh, that guy. Yeah. But anyway, so they're debating. So Nucky and two other top mob Torrio and Rothstein.

Josh (00:12:41) - Rothstein is the he was a Jewish. He's big gambler. And he was, he was actually, he was involved in kind of throwing one. I think it was the World Series or something like that. I mean, these guys are all doing like, totally shady stuff, but so they're having a problem. Like, so Nucky is like, I don't know what to do. You know, feds are going, you know, going after me right now. These these young guys are kind of really trying to starting to screw up. And so they're kind of debating this. Rothstein is not saying anything. It's basically just Nucky and Torrio talking together. And then Rothstein goes, Do nothing. And Nucky is like, What? I beg your pardon? And I just going to read this script from the script. It's so beautiful. He goes and Nucky goes, I beg your pardon? You have no move, Mr. Thompson. You do nothing. Torrio chimes. He goes, He's under attack. Arnold And then here's what Rothstein says.

Josh (00:13:35) - This is so beautiful. I love this. He goes, All the more reason for patience. I've made my living, Mr. Thompson, in large part as a gambler. Some days I make 20 bets, some days I make none. There are weeks, sometimes months. In fact, when I make no bets at all because there simply is no play. So I wait, plan marshal my resources. And when I finally see an opportunity and there is a bet to make. I bet it all.

Daniel (00:14:10) - That's awesome.

Josh (00:14:10) - Damn, I love that, you know, for someone, you know, And it could be, you know, a little bit of my 88 ADHD nature, could be a little bit of my, you know, kind of Midwest, you know, blue collar. Just work hard and get what you want kind of attitude. But there is there's something so beautiful about marshaling your resources, about sharpening your saw, about, you know, making going bold on your plan.

Daniel (00:14:38) - Yeah, yeah.

Daniel (00:14:40) - And I would take a bet on yourself. I think that that holds a lot of people back, you know, really figure out what you believe in. Like if you know community is one thing. I believe in family relationships, people helping people, you know, get those boiled down like really know what you and your business or your brand like what do you really stand for and take a bet on it and and know that it could totally go haywire. Right. And then you need to just take a moment, just like the quote says and take a pause and just reflect. Think about what you're doing, thinking about how, you know, for me, the biggest thing that has been kind of coming into my atmosphere a lot lately, lately is the is the vision board, right? It's like. You know, revision boards are so cliché. The the the secret is so cliche. But I do I don't know exactly what the the recipe is or the magic is. But I do think that if you believe in something and you do have a direction and you're going towards something, that those relationships, the energy you pass back and forth.

Daniel (00:15:58) - This is really like the extent of my spirituality here. But just like I love that energy transference, right? And and the direction that you go and and the things that come into your life because of it. This is an exact example, like our friendship, like what we've created here. Like, it's amazing. It's awesome. Like we're, we're collaborating, we're bouncing ideas off of each other. We're learning, we're growing, we're experiencing. And that would have never happened if I didn't kind of have this path that I've been kind of, you know, working on and going down and like, these are the relationships that can change the path of your life completely, alter what direction you're going in. And that's phenomenal. I just love that. I love when you meet somebody that just sparks something new in you and you go, You know what? I do got this. And this person helped me realize something. That's just another aha moment like, Yes, and I love that man. So, you know, I appreciate the time we've been spending together and getting to learn about you.

Daniel (00:17:06) - And I love watching your bass videos on Facebook. They are the best.

Josh (00:17:13) - If you don't know what Dan's talking about, come find me on my personal Facebook. That's where I share. I don't talk business a whole lot on my personal Facebook. I mainly share stuff that I talk about in real life, you know, and I.

Daniel (00:17:25) - Share Life is more than business, my friend.

Josh (00:17:28) - I just started I just started picking up the bass guitar a couple of months ago. And so if you want to go see me kind of muddle through some songs and I try to mostly.

Daniel (00:17:36) - Pick these good guys, he's good. He's being modest. It's fun.

Josh (00:17:41) - You know? So. Dan and by the way, you were talking about law of association, and that really is so powerful, right? This one plus one, I think, you know, we've heard this phrase, right, whereas one plus one equals three. But I believe that, you know, the the the nature of of these diverse experiences in these diverse wisdom, when they come together, the math is more like a one plus one equals 11.

Josh (00:18:08) - Right. It's just like the potential, which is why I'm just so bullish on networking and and you know, getting plugged in with a whisper network and just constantly chatting with more and building more and more high value relationships. That's kind of all you need today in business. Well, you know, you need an offer and all that.

Daniel (00:18:25) - And you'll surprise yourself. You'll surprise yourself. You know, you got to turn it up to 11. Yeah, and no, but you'll surprise yourself with how much you learn without even knowing it. It's just like these things happen and your subconscious is just collecting and collecting and you're having these conversations and you're spitting out words and knowledge and experience that You're like, Where did this come? Like, you know, like, it's just it's magical, really. The the amount that I've changed in the last six months just from putting myself at the table, having conversations with thought leaders, having myself conversations with people that really value the same things that I do. And I've really I was telling you earlier, I've really built a community around the entrepreneurial world.

Daniel (00:19:18) - I just I really enjoy hearing people's stories. I got a podcast called Overcome Mountains. You can check out where I talk to industry experts about the mountains they've overcame to get to where they are today. Um, and you know, it's just the conversation I love to have. I think that, um. It's really kind of fuels me. But that's also one of my favorite things to do is talk. I can build relationships all day because I just find people so fascinating, so well.

Josh (00:19:50) - Obviously one of those key relationships is going to be you and the clients that you get to serve fully and you get to show up. And, you know, we were kind of talking about vision earlier, and I think a lot of us, listen, we might know what we want to do. We might know what our passion or drive is, but our ability to communicate that can sometimes be hampered. Right? Because we're inside the bottle. And that's why, Dan, it's so critical, you know, to anyone listening, if you've never worked with someone who's really good at branding, it can be life changing.

Josh (00:20:25) - And you're truly, you know. Dan I'll just personally endorse you. I mean, you know, again, you're just that guide that can help people truly communicate their vision and not just communicate, but define it and then communicate it. And so would you. Your website, by the way, go bold digital.com. Would you maybe kind of share about like who you're typically working with, what that engagement looks like? And then again, we'll kind of make sure people know how to get connected with you as well for sure.

Daniel (00:20:53) - And I think that you'll be kind of seeing some changes when you go there. It's very directed right now. You know, for the last year or so, I've been really working with newer coaches and helping people kind of get established in the entrepreneurial experience and learn how to create visibility online and then how to capture leads and stuff like that. But as you'll watch, Go Build is going to be, you know, maturing, I would say, in in who we're working with.

Daniel (00:21:27) - We want to be a strategic partner in helping develop brands and just watch the results. When you have clarity, when you have clarity and your messaging is simple, you will be flabbergasted by the the conversations that you're having, the the direct audience that wants your product, that wants your services, the people you're talking to are more ideal clients and stuff like that. And it's really, for me, ideal relationships. That is what an amazing brand will give you. The ideal relationships that make sales so organic. It makes it so easy because that connection is there before you even say a word vocally, right? So yeah.

Josh (00:22:15) - Yeah, yeah. So again, your website go bold digital. How do people connect with you? What would you recommend that they do.

Daniel (00:22:23) - Yeah I would just say reach out to me Dan at Goebel digital let's just start a conversation Um and I would say that if you reach out to me we would just set up a discovery call and kind of just do an audit of what you have going on.

Daniel (00:22:37) - Let's just figure out what you're, where you're at, what you're trying to go to, what solve the problem and or one of the problems and, and move on from there. And just you know, I am a very collaborative person. I'm not a you are sales guy and I really want to help you. So that is what I'm taking away. If you want to work with somebody that's authentic, empathetic, cares about your results and has the knowledge and skills to deliver, then I'm your guy.

Josh (00:23:07) - Yeah Dan goers go bold digital.com. Dan It's been so great having this conversation. This is actually one of my most fun episodes I've done in a long time, so that's great.
