THE THOUGHTFUL ENTREPRENEUR PODCAST
Unleashing Your Coaching Business Potential
In a recent episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur Show, host Josh Elledge engaged in a rich conversation with Zammy Mustaq, a distinguished marketing and sales mentor and strategist for coaches. The episode brimmed with valuable insights and actionable advice aimed at enhancing marketing and sales strategies. This blog post will explore the key themes discussed, offering a comprehensive guide to mastering these crucial business areas.
A deep understanding of your ideal client is foundational to effective marketing and sales. Sammy emphasized the importance of truly grasping your client's pain points, desires, and motivations. To achieve this, create detailed client avatars, conduct thorough market research, and use empathy mapping to visualize your clients' experiences and emotions. These steps will help tailor your messaging more effectively, ensuring it resonates with your target audience.
Crafting a compelling value proposition is essential for capturing your ideal clients' attention and standing out from the competition. Focus on the benefits your clients will experience, use clear and concise language, and continuously refine your value proposition based on feedback. Additionally, building trust and credibility is crucial for converting prospects into clients. Leverage testimonials and case studies, provide value upfront through free resources, and maintain consistency in your messaging and branding to establish a reliable and trustworthy image.

Speaker 1 (00:01:19) - You'll find a direct link to your website. Will. Sammy, thanks for joining us.
Speaker 2 (00:01:23) - Thanks for having me. Josh. Super excited.
Speaker 1 (00:01:25) - All right. So give us an overview of the work that you do. And, you know how you serve your clients.
Speaker 2 (00:01:32) - Yeah, absolutely. I primarily work with coaches, consultants and purpose driven entrepreneurs, and what I do is really help them grow their business using predictable, organic marketing strategies, primarily Facebook and Instagram.
Speaker 1 (00:01:50) - Yeah, well, okay, then that portends the question what is working? Well, today on Facebook and Instagram, you and I were kind of joking earlier. There's a bunch of stuff that doesn't work. Or I shouldn't say. I don't know that it doesn't work. It's not very enjoyable. but there are definitely some things you can do that do work. So what's working on Facebook and Instagram?
Speaker 2 (00:02:11) - Absolutely. why don't we share what's not working? Call DMs, the spammy stuff. We all get them. so, you know, really it's my approach is all about building connections and doing business in a way that feels aligned and feels authentic.
Speaker 2 (00:02:30) - you know, I don't like to treat people as numbers. It's really a matter of leading with value. And I feel that when you lead with value, then, you know, sales is no longer sleazy, icky, or manipulative. Sales becomes more of service. and so that's my approach and how I like to lead. Now, when it comes to Facebook specifically and Instagram, definitely, we can dive deeper into what's working. but I like to think of it as, you know, three really main things in the framework that I teach my clients. So it's the first which is A and C, so it's attract, nurture, convert, which is basically an attract. You want to look at how you attracting your audience, how you're growing your audience and then nurture which is how are you taking them from somebody who just came into your audience to building that know like trust and building rapport. And then C is convert, which is how you converting them. So yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:03:27) - Yeah. Okay. So now there's a lot of Facebook groups out there.
Speaker 1 (00:03:33) - why would someone want to join one of your clients Facebook groups or your Facebook group? Like what? What's so enticing about the group?
Speaker 2 (00:03:41) - Absolutely. So there are a ton of Facebook groups and it is it can be a bit noisy out there, but really it's about the value that you provide upfront in the group. So, it's not a place where people just come and get spammed with or get sold. it's really a place where there's a lot of structure. for example, in my group, I host live weekly trainings every single week on specific strategies where actually walk you through certain things. The same thing with my clients. I have clients who are in a variety of niches, the health niche, so specifically gut health. one of my clients, she does live weekly trainings on things like how does your, you know, hormonal health affect your mind or what does liver got to do with fatigue and how you can overcome that? so it's very specific trainings that we have on a weekly basis. as well as providing an opportunity for people to take part in communities.
Speaker 2 (00:04:44) - So something that I have in my group is we have virtual connection events. and I host these on zoom, where literally I have coaches that come on, and this is a safe space for us to share what's working, share ideas, brainstorm, get feedback without feeling, you know, we're going to be pitched to or be sold to as well.
Speaker 1 (00:05:06) - Yeah. and so what would be some examples? I think you've mentioned a couple already, of, you know, maybe coaches where this works exceptionally well. Are there any coaches where you say, yeah, it's going to be a little harder for you because of XYZ? Can you think of like any industries like, oh, easy, easy, easy. And some they're like, you're going to have to be a little bit more thoughtful.
Speaker 2 (00:05:29) - Yeah. So I would say, the niches that could be more difficult would be, it's all about where is your ideal client hanging out? And are they looking for support in places like Facebook groups. So, you know, people, when they have a problem, they're searching for solutions everywhere.
Speaker 2 (00:05:48) - They could be searching on YouTube. They could be more on Instagram or on LinkedIn. Right. So it depends on does the person you serve, are they hanging out in Facebook groups? Is that a place they actually hang out in? and then coming back to the clarity of, you know, are you super clear on exactly who you serve? If it's something that's wishy washy and vague and you're, you know, you're being more inspirational and stuff, then you kind of blend in and probably not the best place. So really having a targeted, targeted, audience and making sure that they actually do go to Facebook groups to get support, with the solution that you provide. So health is a big niche, that it works really, really well, really well in just within health. There's so much there's, you know, gut health, Hashimoto's hormonal. and and you know, and then, more of the manifestation niche, works really well as well. The spiritual niches work really well. time management and productivity niche works really well.
Speaker 2 (00:06:52) - so yeah, they are. Depends on the niche for sure.
Speaker 1 (00:06:56) - All right. So, what would be. So to someone that's listening, it's not enough. Just. I mean, so you want to set so you set up a group, right? And probably again, be thinking about what is the immediate value someone could get if they join this group, rather than just hoping and wishing that other people are going to do all of the giving. I think you probably want to be a little bit more thoughtful about that.
Speaker 2 (00:07:24) - Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (00:07:26) - So what would what would be some other ways that that you could create a group where there's like instant value right from the get go.
Speaker 2 (00:07:36) - So, like, you mean when they join? yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:07:39) - Right. Because again, there are a lot of groups out there, so you just want to make sure it's good.
Speaker 2 (00:07:43) - Well, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:07:45) - This. And then the other part of this, let me ask you already addressed that other thing. Let's move on.
Speaker 1 (00:07:50) - So how do we invite or how do we get a bunch of people to join our group.
Speaker 2 (00:07:55) - Right. Okay, so so to answer your question, how do we get instant value? you already have trainings in there and you already have resources. So you as soon as they join you, we have like a welcome post where you're able to share specifically customized resources based on their need and their journey and where they're at and what solution they're looking for. and then, yeah, how do we get people to actually, into our groups? So we leverage a couple of different strategies for this. It's one identifying the people that you're looking that you're serve where they hanging out. They probably already are hanging out in some other people's Facebook groups, perhaps coaches that already have a massive audience and are not able to serve, that audience at that scale. so repurposing or leveraging their audience or specific audiences where they have like 100 K business entrepreneurs in that audience and that group, and they actually allow you to come in and, you know, pretty much like promote your lead magnet or your freebie or something that you give as a taster.
Speaker 2 (00:09:02) - and then people who are interested in that, are able to reach out to you and connect with you from that place. So you're able to drive traffic from basically a massive place into your group and it's targeted.
Speaker 1 (00:09:16) - and how do you work with your clients like obviously you help people with this. how do you engage?
Speaker 2 (00:09:25) - How do I help them with the strategies?
Speaker 1 (00:09:28) - Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:09:29) - Yeah. So I have a mastermind. It's a combination of group coaching and one on one coaching. So what we do is we have a, you know, business plan call where we make sure we craft out a customized strategy because it's not a cookie cutter approach, to make sure it actually is aligned to what they're trying to do and what feels good to them. And then they join my mastermind. Every single week we have coaching calls, as well as they get access to all the material in terms of stuff that, you know, they need to work through. And it's and then it comes down to taking action and making sure that, you know, they're doing the work.
Speaker 2 (00:10:07) - But more importantly is I'm more hands on in their business. So they're never like, oh, confused, what should I do? Or this didn't work. It's always like, okay, so let's review this, making sure it's working. What needs to be tweaked? it's very hands on and very action driven, I would say.
Speaker 1 (00:10:26) - Yeah. and tell me a bit about Instagram. What do you see working in Instagram? And there are Instagram groups, right. So I asked that like a dummy because obviously I don't spend a lot of time on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (00:10:39) - No, no no. So there are no Instagram groups. but yeah with Instagram. So again leveraging, you know, a trailblazer in, in your niche who's already growing their audience. but also with Instagram content plays a huge role. So the reels and the algorithms go pretty crazy. So when it comes to Instagram, I would say if you enjoy the process of content creation, you truly love putting things out there and creating and and that stuff, then Instagram is definitely a platform because it really allows you to put out your personality and get creative there.
Speaker 2 (00:11:16) - and so when it comes to content, it's being strategic, posting things that, you know, first of all, will be like a hook that will capture your audience within the first liner, addressing a problem or creating a belief shift in their belief in terms of like, you know what? This thing that you're suffering or struggling with right now, it's not actually normal and there is a solution to it. And then adding value in terms of, you know, here are some things that you can do. And then being able to have a call to action of, you know, comment this or comment that kind of thing. So the structure to to post, I would say is really important when it comes to Instagram.
Speaker 1 (00:11:56) - There are a lot of variables that are going to happen for different people that are attempting to do this. But Tammy, can you maybe help set realistic expectations in terms of like, yeah, you're going to need to be pretty diligent for a period of time, like, can you help us with, managing expectations? It's not like they're going to do this and instantly, you know, their inbox is going to be flooded with clients?
Speaker 2 (00:12:22) - Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (00:12:23) - So like anything with any strategy, you got to be able to set realistic expectations. It's not going to happen overnight. So for example with Instagram we know it's heavy on content. And so you want to be able to make sure you batch your content, you know, 3060 days at least, especially if it's things like reels, that really allows you to just have that taken care of, you know, everyday thinking about what to post similarly with Facebook, but more on Instagram. and then you really want to make sure you, you take the first month or two, it can take a bit of time to grow your audience. So you want to get at least, you know, realistically, for 100 people, you'll be able to enroll one, 2 or 3 clients. So that's kind of like a range. So if you get depending on how many leads you're bringing in on a, on a monthly or daily basis, then we can see, okay. So based on X amount of leads you're booking X amount of calls you're closing or enrolling X amount of people.
Speaker 2 (00:13:24) - that's kind of like a realistic expectation.
Speaker 1 (00:13:27) - Yeah. Sammy, I know you have a couple of things that you, you do. A lot of you share free resources. Do you, do you mind maybe sharing a couple things that I know that you've got, available to listeners?
Speaker 2 (00:13:39) - Yeah. For sure. So, I have a free client attraction guide, which I walk you through. Exactly. the strategy that I use and that I help my clients in a step by step basis, primarily for Facebook. you can get that. and I also have a free five day challenge that I run. and on this challenge, it's totally free. And it's five days. And every single day, I share with you, you know, how to actually grow your audience, how to create content that converts, where to find your people, how to book more calls, how to enroll clients without sleazy salesy tactics, more using a heart centered feminine sales approach. So. Yeah.
